Welcome!
I'm Michael Gorsuch, and this is my little repository on the intertubes. I do not claim expertise in anything, and am usually more interested in learning about what I am missing than in telling you what I have. This place is meant to be a front for an occasional essay or observation. I have started too many blogging projects in the past, and have seen them all fail by getting over run with silly little posts about my pointless daily activities. I have set aside an older LiveJournal account to house those sorts of posts so that this vessel may hopefully contain something relevant to people outside of my small social circle.
Like most of you, I have many different interests and there are many different versions of 'me'. I know that I am a husband, a small scale beer brewer, a musician, a hacker, an incoherent philosopher, a wannabe ecologist, and a struggling gardener. I cannot wait to add to this list.
Professionally, I've worked in the field of information technology for twelve years and have (mostly) enjoyed it. I am currently the Systems Administrator for Fog Creek Software in New York City, and consider this to be my favorite position so far. We're a young company, and I was given the opportunity to come in, take over the infrastructure, and to manage things in the manner that I believe is appropriate. It is very gratifying to know that I can contribute directly to our company's success, and can be also quite humbling when things go awry. Such is the path of progress.
I'm a web nerd, and can be found at the following places:
- Styled Bits (here)
- My LiveJournal (usual a 'friends only' kind of place)
- MySpace
- Del.icio.us
Feel free to browse around, and if you'd like to get in touch, you may do so here.
